"The traditional banking system is dead."
At least, that's what some Web3 advocates claim. But is it really?
Has the Blockchain / Web3 space truly disrupted mainstream financial services in a meaningful way? I argue that it already has, but in ways currently invisible to the bottom line.
So, what does the future hold? Will Web3 replace the legacy financial system entirely?
I argue that it will not. In fact, many established financial institutions are already adopting advanced technologies, building their own blockchains and getting used to stablecoins, blurring the line between traditional finance and the Web3-enabled future.
Thus, the future of financial services is bright - at least for those who move swiftly and purposefully.
